Since October 1, 2025, Sjøgård – the Sea Farm AS is the proud owner of an official permit to start cultivating algae.
You might be wondering why I’m only sharing this now? Well I just received the information on Monday and the relevant documents on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that’s a bit too late in the year!
After some back and forth, I’ve decided not to rush into any hasty actions and will not sow out until 2026. There’s so much to organize: anchors, buoys, chains, lines, “seedlings” – all of this has to be in the right place at the right moment. That takes some time and overview.
